Most people have heard of the Caribbean islands, but few know about the hidden gems that are found there. Saba is one such gem. This Dutch Island is located east of Puerto Rico and is only five square miles in size. Despite its small size, there is much to do on the island. Tourists can spend a day hiking, scuba diving, or simply relaxing on one of the many beaches.

Hiking

One of the best things to do on Saba is to go hiking. The island has well-marked trails that range from easy to difficult. The most popular hike is the Sky's The Limit trail, which takes hikers to the top of Mount Scenery, the highest point in the Netherlands. The views from the top are breathtaking and well worth the effort it takes to get there. Don't forget to buy a t-shirt at the end to celebrate your hike!

Scuba Diving

Another great activity on Saba is scuba diving. The island has some of the best scuba diving in the world. There are over 50 dive sites surrounding the island, with something for everyone from beginners to experienced divers. The clear water and abundance of marine life make diving on Saba an unforgettable experience.

Beaches

Although Saba is not as well known for their beaches, they do offer a couple of options. One of which is Well's Bay, a unique black sand reminiscent of the islands past volcanic activity, that comes and goes with the seasons.

Saba is a hidden gem in the Caribbean that offers tourists a unique experience. From hiking to scuba diving to simply relaxing on one of its many beaches, there's something for everyone on this small Dutch island. So, if you're looking for a place to get away from it all and enjoy some time in nature, be sure to add Saba to your list of places to visit.
